The United Kingdom is well known for its name & shame culture. The tabloid press has no qualms to out suspected paedosexuals. Big question is: does this aggressive approach help or does it make matters worse? The Lucy Faithful Foundation, whose main aim is to fight child abuse, has a different tack. With its Circles project for instance it helps convicted to deal with life and their sexual feeling after they have finished their prison terms and return to the normal world. So-called circles of volunteers are in regular contact with the ex-convicts to help him lead a normal life. The project has been very successful: less than 10 percent of participants have committed new sexual crimes.
