For decades, front groups for corporate America have been trying to sell us the idea that we need tort reform. It's a catchy phrase, but what it really means is that corporations want to take away the right of American citizens to take a company to court when they make a product that maims, kills, or disfigures consumers. THAT is what tort reform really means.
