I thought it'd be fun to release a throwback video I never published before, from my graduation recital back at CalArts! This piece is an original piece performed on Ghanaian calabash drums, made from Ghanaian squash. This instrument is traditionally performed by women in empowerment groups. I've always been moved by the power and rhythm of traditional African music and I thought today's #TBT would be a perfect time to share it!
