Tehran informs nuclear watchdog of its plan to boost uranium enrichment capacity

Iran has notified the International Atomic Energy Agency of its plan to increase its uranium enrichment capacity. According to Iran's nuclear chief, the country has begun working on infrastructure for building advanced centrifuges at its Natanz facility. He, however, said its nuclear activities would remain within the framework of the 2015 nuclear deal. On Monday, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had ordered preparations to increase uranium enrichment capacity if the landmark accord falls apart.
