Veterinarian Julie Servaites has performed euthanasia on many of her patients over her career. She shares how these same principles of a good death could be applied to the end of human lives.
Dr. Julie Servaites is a veterinarian and owner of Veterinary Alternatives in Centerville, Ohio. She is a graduate of Wright State University and received her veterinary degree from Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada. After veterinary school, Julie received a certification in Chinese veterinary acupuncture from the Chi Institute, a graduate diploma in veterinary Chinese herbal medicine from the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies, and is completing education to become a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner from the University of Tennessee. Julie loves all kinds of animals, but her true passion is caring for geriatric pets. Outside of the clinic, she likes to spend most of her time with her two four-legged children, Iris and Octavius. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
