Subject: How do the Old & New Testaments connect?

Note: Many people feel that the Old Testament is cool and interesting but not necessary. It has been seen to me as the boring half of the Bible, and I've always wondered why God would write the majority of the Bible for my ancient ancestors. I would skim through Genesis until I finally felt I could breathe at Psalms and then struggle through the rest until finally I arrived at Matthew. Recently though, God has shown me the importance of the Old Testament as it points to the New in every way. Without the Old, we wouldn't be able to understand the meaning of the events in the New Testament in any way. Similarly, the New is needed to complete our understanding through the interpretation of the events since the Creation in Genesis. Please could you discuss some of the connections between the Old and New and how important they both are in comparison??Thanks a lot for the consideration!!
