Jeanne* told her story sitting in a makeshift settlement in Port-au-Prince, the afternoon sun burning through the plastic walls of her tent. Twenty-eight years old, HIV-positive and six months pregnant, Jeanne was walking home from the market on January 12, the day a powerful earthquake struck Haiti. Her first thought was for her unborn baby, and she broke her finger protecting herself from a falling wall. Jeanne lost almost everything in the earthquake: her father, her partner and her livelihood. But she didn't lose her baby.
