This week on PBC Jabs it’s all about you, the fans, as we reveal the results of PBC’s Best of 2016 fan poll, including your pick for Fight of the Year and Fighter of the Year.

2016 was stacked with some big knockouts and memorable matchups, and with the year coming to an end, it’s only fitting to look back at all the great action PBC delivered in its second season. We asked you to weigh in on your favorites in four categories, and you did so in big numbers, as we received thousands of votes in each category. Now it’s time to reveal the winners.

Let’s start with Rising Star of the Year. The candidates were Erickson Lubin, Justin DeLoach, Sergey Lipinets and Jarrett Hurd. Now all of these guys have promising careers, but the fighter you believe is the one to watch is 154-pound knockout artist Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin. Lubin, a 21-year-old southpaw, went 4-0 in 2016, running his record to 17-0 with 12 KOs. Although he competes in a division loaded with talent, there’s little doubt that Lubin has a bright future ahead of him.

Next up is Knockout of the Year. The candidates in this category were 175-pound champion Adonis Stevenson’s jaw-dropping fourth-round stoppage of Thomas Williams Jr., Murat Gassiev's vicious first-round destruction of Jordan Shimmell, heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s crushing ninth-round KO of Artur Szpilka and Thomas Williams Jr.’s second-round wipeout of Edwin Rodriguez. And the winner by a wide margin is Wilder over Szpilka.

Fight of the Year is a topic that always leads to a lot of passionate debate among fight fans, and 2016 was no different. Your choices this year were all world title fights: Leo Santa Cruz versus Carl Frampton, Robert Easter Jr. versus Richard Commey, Keith Thurman vs Shawn Porter and Adonis Stevenson versus Thomas Williams Jr. All four of those epic fights could’ve had had their hands raised in victory, but your winner by split decision is Thurman versus Porter, a 147-pound slugfest that barely edged out the 135-pound clash between Easter and Commey. 
 
Finally, we move to the biggest honor: Fighter of the Year. We gave you four tremendously worthy fighters to choose from: Keith Thurman, Jermall Charlo, Carl Frampton and Robert Easter Jr. All four of these world champions shined in 2016, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see any of the four nominated for this prestigious award in 2017. But this year, the fans’ choice for PBC Fighter of the Year is Robert Easter Jr. Congratulations to Robert and all of this year’s winners!
