It pretty much is a puzzle where you had to figure out which blocks to break when wearing the spike shellmet, and then figure out what to do after losing the spike shellmet. There are no reset doors so if you messed up, you had to restart the level. I solved this pretty quickly, but messed up on the clear a few times since I always seemed to forget a step.
