--Overall Comments--

"The Parent Map" provides us with the second Map episode of the season already!  This time, it calls Sunburst and Starlight Glimmer back to their childhood home, Sire's Hollow.  We finally get to meet their parents, and see more of the location in which they grew up, which we've seen briefly in Starlight's flashbacks before.

Not as much score this week, but the episode does feature some wonderful returning motifs that we haven't heard in a while.  This is the first map episode in quite some time that actually features all of the standard map episode scenes: one with a pony first realizing they are being called, another scene with them meeting up with the second pony being called at the map, one with them traveling by train to their destination, and the final "mission accomplished" theme.  So we finally get to here the full, grand Call of the Cutie motif at the beginning of the episode.  And I get to reprise all of my crazy map episode track names.

In addition, the episode also features the cue from Starlight's flashbacks to her childhood in Sire's Hollow from the season 5 finale and season 6 premiere, a nice musical touch.
