Alan Fitzpatrick 'Blocked Up' Drumcode DCCD02 7th June 2010 The continued rise of Alan Fitzpatrick was one of the biggest stories in Techno scene in 2010. Tirelessly championed by Dubfire, Len Faki and John Digweed over the previous three years, it was been Alan's partnership with Adam Beyer's Drumcode label that produced Fitzpatrick's most significant work; releasing two chart-topping EPs on the label in the last half of 2009 and ending a monumental year as one of a select handful of producers invited to remix Beyer's classic Remainings III. With the same unstoppable momentum that characterises Alan's style of techno simultaneously powering demand for his music worldwide, the release of this debut album marked the start of the next chapter in Alan's exciting career. As Fitzpatrick explains, "Shadows In The Dark" was the culmination of six moths of solid work. I locked myself away in the studio, and focused on pouring every ounce of creativity into the project". The result is a body of work, described by Drumcode owner Adam Beyer as "An outstanding album. Already a classic. Simply amazing" that saw Fitzpatrick complete the transition from highly regarded new-kid-on-the-block to a bonafide member of Techno's vanguard. Focusing on his trademark sound of tough, hooky grooves and incendiary beats, 'Shadows In The Dark' will ring true to fans of Fitzpatrick's no infamous debut tracks '9 Hours Later' and 'Face Of Rejection' while also giving an insight into his musical range as a producer via experimental electronic moments and deep, groove-heavy house.
