This evening at around 7:15 p.m. the Modesto Police Department responded to the intersection of I St. and 8th St. along with E.M.S. crews for reports of a 2 vehicle collision with 1 of the cars into the side of a building.

When crews arrived on the scene they found 1 SUV in the intersection and 1 car on the sidewalk west of the intersection which had stopped at the wall of the business, causing little or no damage to the business.

All the involved parties were checked out by E.M.S. at the scene. no one was transported to the hospital.

According to witnesses at the scene the driver of the SUV was driving westbound through the intersection while the driver of the car was driving southbound. The cars collided in the intersection. Fault in the collision has not yet been determined by the Modesto Police Department however, an officer at the scene did confirm that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor.

I St. was blocked off for about 30 minutes while police investigated the crash and cleared the debris.
