If Sexuality Education were relatable, accessible, comprehensive, and collaborative rather than ineffective, awkward, embarrassing, and avoided, we could reduce rates of sexual victimization and create healthier communities for generations to come. In this Talk, Dr. Sheridan uses her 20 years of experience helping people to challenge their assumptions about sexuality to challenge the audience to explore and communicate openly about the topic of human sexuality through a hopeful and positive lens. Dae C. Sheridan, Ph.D. is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Board Certified Clinical Sexologist and Professor of Human Sexuality at the University of South Florida. An advocate and activist for quality mental health services and sexuality education for all, Dr. Dae regularly presents her research and participates as a featured expert for various professional organizations and media outlets nationwide. The top two reasons for divorce in the U.S. are money and sex...and she’s no accountant. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
