Injustce 2: Should NetherRealm Add Ranking System?

Injustice 2 was going strong at the start of its release with its gear system and multiverse feature. But as the game is getting older and more people are collecting and maxing up the gear for their characters, it leaves people with no other "goal" in mind. That is why I believe a ranking system in injustice 2 can be great way to make players play this game in the long run to increase its lifespan.
