Over my time in Haworth so far, my thoughts and ideas on many things have changed. I have been influenced by the books I have read, the people I have met and by the job I have done. Taking baptisms, weddings and funerals along with being involved in public events in the village has been a fantastic privilege. In 2000 as a zealous 28 yr old southerner, West Lane Baptist Church took me on as a student minister and allowed/encouraged me to read and think about God, life and the church's place and role in society. I have not stopped wrestling with these things but I think that I might be beginning to home in on an answer. The reflections were given to a full house at 7pm on a damp October evening. I focus mostly on what I believe about God, Jesus, the bible and the church, but also on the ongoing well being of the village. The questions from the floor were interesting too...
