Fernando is fascinated by progressive transport innovation and its effects on modern culture. Having worked as a car designer for a variety of brands, he currently occupies the Creative Director role at Semcon, overseeing the company's design activities and co-directing its research strategy. Sonic Movement, the group's latest exploratory project on the topic of electric vehicle sounds, has been described by Jarvis Cocker, Pulp frontman and BBC Radio host, as "crazy talk that could turn our cities into symphony". Born and raised in Mexico City, Fernando's pursuit of technology's intersection with emergent social, cultural, political and environmental circumstances has earned him recognition amongst transport innovation groups and a mention in Wallpaper Magazine's article "The fresh and fabulous forward thinkers who will change design forever". In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
