It has always been the dark side of summer and this film from 1977 attempts to give some instruction on how best to deal with the threat. Every year bushfires threaten the safety of house-holders living on the fringes of Australian cities and towns. The film reveals some little-known facts about the habits of bushfires and points out ways of protecting lives and homes. The film gives details on how to prevent fire from spreading, how to fight fire and what to do to avoid injury from a fire. Made by Film Australia 1977. Directed by Deborah Kingsland.
