Representatives of coloured communities in Gauteng have vowed to intensify their protests. On Friday there were demonstrations under the banner 'Total Shutdown'.

They were sparked by the death of Heather Peterson, the mother who was killed in alleged gang violence in Westbury last month. Community members will also hold a Blood Friday march this week, to honour the life of Peterson.
