Umi Being Studied as Potential Wind and Solar Power Production Site

Umi in Morobe’s Markham District has the potential to produce large amounts of solar and wind energy, according to a research conducted by the University of Technology’s Lands Department. The Deputy HOD of the Electrical Engineering Department, Gibson Kupale said this could boost the amount of energy currently produced. The study is being done to promote the use of renewable energy, to achieve sustainable development in rural areas.
