using 19th century barn beams and technology, i make a bench "great granpa style" using only old fashioned hand tools and NO electricity. even all shop lights remained off. FULL DISCLOSURE: i did use a modern, water-based poly (for environmental reasons), filmed this with a cell phone and edited it on a mac, but other than that this all could've taken place 100 years ago. oh, and the lag bolts i used were pulled from a cart made in the 1940s, but i'm fairly certain that technology goes back over 100 years. so if the zombie apocalypse comes, aliens attack, the government steals our energy - whatever you fear - rest assured we can still make a bench, at least, the old fashioned way... they come in handy for sittin' and such. i'm gonna try to make some fire this week ;-) thanks for watching and check out some other vids! -tim www.timsway.net
