RASS - Risk Assessment for Sourcing Seafood. SEAFISH has developed a free online risk assessment tool (known as RASS) that will help buyers to make quick and sound judgements on the risks they face when sourcing seafood at stock level and at fisheries level. In this second video tutorial on the RASS online tool, we show how to register your own online account, add 'Fisheries Profiles' to your 'basket' and save, download or print PDFs of these fisheries profiles. By registering an account you can save your searches and save the contents of your basket. You can manage your account details at any time. No payments are required! View the complete playlist: http://goo.gl/sHPKYD RASS will build on the information contained in the Seafish Responsible Sourcing Guides (RSGs), which currently covers 38 species (and around 300 stocks). RASS fishery profiles are written, edited and updated by independent scientists - including our main partner CEFAS (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquatic Science). All RASS profiles are peer-reviewed to ensure consistency. RASS will discuss mitigation measures employed to address significant issues affecting wild species landed or imported into the UK. In time, ethical, welfare, and safety information will be added, as well as nutritional signposts. RASS is an essential resource through which commercial seafood operations can assess their exposure to reputational hazards.
