Mr Bittu Sehgal, Editor of Sanctuary Asia and Sanctuary Cub Magazines, India during the session 'Sustainability Challenge Across Sectors' at the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit 2013.

Speaking at the summit, Bittu Sehgal reiterated that the present generation is harming the future of the next generation. He called it inter-generational colonization. He said it was futile to talk about resource efficiency if we kill the very source of our sustenance. Nature will only give consequences, not judgements, he concluded.

A planet of 7 billion people, a number that is growing every minute, is likely to face increased conflicts over scarce resources. So unless we begin to use our resources efficiently, we are likely to reach tipping points that will not only harm our own well-being, but also that of our future generations. The decisions we make today will define our tomorrow.
