The old train parked in that small yard is an old Southern Pacific railroad train that was abandoned but now has some excursion rides in Folsom. Before the light rail was put here. A while back their was a southern pacific railroad track here and it was called the Placerville Branch. The track got removed then years later in 2005 came the extension for the SACRT light rail gold line to Folsom. Part of the SP track still remains along side the light rail because it is used now as an Union Pacific Freight train Branch called the Folsom Turn. The part of the track that the old excursion train is sitting on goes on up to Placerville. The track was split into two. The UP part of the track runs along side the light rail tracks from the Fresno Sub mainline to Nimbus Road and the light rail keeps going. The SP Excursion part of the track runs from Folsom, CA to Placerville, CA.
