Delegates from nearly 200 countries are striving to meet a deadline this week to agree on the implementation guidelines of the landmark Paris Agreement on climate change. The annual UN Climate Change Conference, also known as COP24, held in the southern Polish city of Katowice, also offers a unique opportunity for the countries to showcase what they have achieved in addressing climate challenges. China in particular, is seen as playing a critical role in leading global actions against climate change.
