Police Officer Fatally Shot On Hunting Trip In Blanchisseuse

Police are investigating what they say appears to be an accidental death of one of their own. Police Constable Dave Raghonanan was reportedly shot while on a hunting trip with friends in Blanchisseusse on Thursday night. The group was on an isolated islet off Blanchisseuse that can only be accessed via boat or helicopter. TTT News understands Raghonanan was airlifted out of the forest at around 7am on Friday and taken for treatment. He was, however, pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Raghonanan was a police officer for 15 years and was attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch. Police are currently interviewing the other people on the camping trip about the incident.
