"The Sun" is a pop-song, relaxed, a little funky; guitar and e-piano backed by a solid rhythm section of bass and drums. The vocals are sung and partly spoken - but not rapped. The story is about a person who opts out and lives an easy life with social benefits. Denial of meritocracy / performance society is up-to-date in Europe, for example the program "Hartz IV" in Germany. The message of the song is: I don't need richness, might and success. Money means trouble, success means stress. ViennaCC: "As a songwriter I wanted to bring in a touch of romance. That is why ma figure is a Bohemian, a poet and philosopher. The more I can identify better and so sing better this text." The story of the video "The Sun": An officeworker gets bored at his table and turns to sleep, a officesleep. He dreams of recreation and leisure, of drinkng champagne with a girl, going with a fiacre, sitting in the shadow of a tree having a picknick, of walking along the beach in the evening sun. Suddenly a phonecall blasts him out of his dreams. Oh, what ridiculous words! What are You? An ape? A crocodile? Don't disturb me! After the phonecall he lays back again and continues dreaming. There are no fast cuts that are so typical for music-videos. That would not fit to this story about leisure.
