After listening to Tim Lerch’s great solo arrangement of this tune, I intended to steal parts of his arrangement, but on a lark I decided to try it in E to make the pedal tone easier. That sent me down a somewhat different rabbit hole. I started off with a slightly stretchy Emaj7add9. I’m playing it with a straight rhythm here while I try to work out the mechanics, but it’s easily adapted to latin or swing. Constructive comments are welcome.
