In summer of 2008, my parents and I traveled to China for some research work and leisure. Toward the end of the trip we went on a hike on some of the ruins of the Great Wall - note, this is not the restored section where tourists go - this is the original, crumbling parts of the Great Wall. We found 6 snakes that day, it was quite an experience.
