BAY RIDGE, Brooklyn - Bomb squad responding to 3 confirmed grenades found at 71 St & Narrows Ave at 6:45 pm Sunday within the confines of the 68 Precinct. Level 1 mobilization transmitted. Police are blocking pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the area. As per Bay Ridge Councilman Justin Brannan: “Just spoke with NYPD. The reports of a suspicious package on 71st Street and Narrows Avenue appears to be 2-3 old inactive or deactivated collectible hand grenades -- the type you can buy in a military surplus store. They appear to have been thrown in the trash by a neighbor cleaning out their house and were found and reported by someone passing by. Out of an abundance of caution, PD has called in the bomb squad to investigate. Will share when I get more information. This is all preliminary right now coming directly from the 68 Precinct on the scene.” Cameraman: Alejandro Feliciano https://youtu.be/aIDGkYUTmoY
