Between April 20 - May 8, 2009, Sri Lanka's Ministry of Health and MSF surgical teams in Vavuniya hospital performed 963 surgeries, over 90 percent for injuries related to the conflict. MSF Surgical Advisor Paul McMaster describes the situation.
