The Patrician series, is, without any doubt one of the most defining games for me. The first Patrician was *the* game that got me into gaming in the first place, and kept me coming back for me. It honed my interest in economics and naval affairs, and was the first taste of using money as a weapon. Patrician 3 is probably the strongest in the series mixing a great trade simulation, the ability to build up cities, powerful competitors, piracy, politics and much more.
