Late summer Murray cod fishing with a predator lure

I LOVE lure fishing for Murray cod at this time of the year, late summer. The days are not stinking hot, the water is refreshing and there's still plenty of cod to be caught. 
As summer comes to a close and we head into autumn, I am expecting that the cod fishing will start to really slow down very soon. The deeper we get into autumn, the more the cod fishing will slow down in my area.
 Do not despair though, Lake Mulwala and the entire Murray River system will still fish consistently for quite a while yet. For some reason it is these upland Murray cod fishing streams that tend to sloe down first once summer is over. 
 In this video I am using a predator lure. I am a big fan of the Predator lures, made right here in Wangaratta. I wish I had a dollar for every Murray cod that I have caught on a Predator cod lure over the years. 
 In fact, my very first Murray cod that I caught lurecasting was on a green Predator lure with black clover patterns on it. It was one the the original Predator lures made of timber, and guess what? I still have the lure here!  
 The Murray cod fishing has slowed significantly in the last few weeks as water temperatures have started to drop. It is still a great time to target Murray cod, however they have slowed and will continue to slow down as we head into autumn.
 Last night when I filmed this video, I landed 4 Murray cod on the predator lure, and Brett missed out. He had a couple of strikes and 1 boof on a white surface lure. At the same time, my dad and his friend Shane went to Lake Mulwala and caught 1 Murray cod between them. Nothing symbolizes autumn Murray cod fishing better than inconsistent, or hot and cold fishing patterns.
