God didn't invent morality. And even if he did, he didn't HAVE to; humans can come up with morals all on their own. They HAVE to, or the human race could never survive because immorality would kill us all, or at least we'd spend our entire lives pissed off at each other. 

Morality is utterly necessary for human survival, and there is nothing about humanity that would preclude or prevent the invention of morality, not even the self-ish part of human nature. In fact, the selfishness of human nature is a necessary component of morality, since self-preservation and self-interest are both required for human-invented morality, the third ingredient being recognizing that one's interests are best served by supporting the same self-centered goals in others, resulting in mutual support.
