In 2005, PS22 had its second American Idol contest. Here, first grader Shawn sings an awesome and hilarious version of the classic baseball anthem, "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". Poor Shawn, he spent all this time setting up, and then my co-host Michael totally missed his cues! Didn't matter! Shawn still won in the extreme junior singer category (kindergarten through second grade), and deservedly so! The audience was in tears for all the right reasons!
