Date/Time: 4-6-18 9:26 pm Location: Altadena and 50th St City: San Diego Incident Details: An SDPD officer on patrol spotted a suspect wanted on a Federal Warrant for Human Smuggling (Heard on Police Scanner, but not confirmed by Police). The suspect fled when approached and was seen jumping over fences of residences backyards. The suspect was spotted in the backyard of a residence on Altadena, and then the Police helicopter ABLE spotted the suspect break into a garage. The was surrounded by officers and K-9 units. Officers had to break into the garage, and officers believed the suspect was hiding in the trunk of a car inside the garage. Pepper Balls were used in an attempt to get the suspect to surrender, but the suspect would not come out of the trunk. More pepper balls were used, and eventually, the suspect unlocked the truck and came out, where he was detained. The owner of the residence came home to find a lot of damage done to his property but was assured the City would take care of the damages caused by the search.
