REPLICA of the 1970 BENEATH the Planet of the Apes screen-used Gorilla Carbine cosplay prop genuine leather sling strap and spring loaded trigger assembly. This amazing replica was painstakingly patterned and detailed by master Hollywood modelers to match the original rifles used in the classic second Planet of the Apes movie. With the exception of some of the detail pieces and the assembly hardware (barrel end, bayonet tip, strap swivels, bolts, screws, and springs) the rest of the fourty or so parts used on this re-creation were all fabricated in sturdy fiberglass, durable urethane resins, and plastics. There is no exposed wood or metal anywhere else on this prop. The expert painters are fooling your eyes! The stock has been sealed with automotive clear-coat to protect the expert faux wood detailing. The non-metal rifle receiver and trigger assembly were painted to resemble aged gunmetal. Although it may look realistic, there are no moving parts in the solid dummy receiver. This replica movie prop rifle meets ATF requirements for "non-gun" status and CAN NOT be made to fire real ammunition of any kind. It's a prop, folks! Us ape kids always wanted one of these when way back in the day, but Mattel was only rehashing old cowboy pistols, Winchesters, and Tommy Guns... http://apemania.com/TOYS/ToyMasks&guns.jpeg http://apemania.com/TOYS/WHAT_IT_WASx3.jpg Slapping a Planet of the Apes sticker on a six shooter doesn't make it a Planet of the Apes gun! How dis-ape-pointing! Who did they think they were kidding? Not us kids! So we made our own!
