Disclaimer: this is not a substitute for real deck scratching, merely something you can add to your bag of tricks. I will say that, despite what the vinyl purist are going to criticize about, it takes some level of fader skills and scratch method proficiency to actually do this. I found crabs and transformers being the most effective fader movements. This would also be an awesome trick for controllerists who don't use decks at all, especially the guys who use MIDI Fighters.

How to do it:
Very simple. Load a scratch track. Set the hot cues at the beginning of each sample. Have the deck playing. Hit the hot cue, then start cutting.

This can be done on Traktor (quantize off), Ableton (quantize off), Virtual DJ, and even the CDJ with hot cues, as a standalone deck.

This can be done on a NI Kontrol Z2 mixer, Novation Dicers, or any MIDI device assigned to trigger the hot cues including MIDI drum pads or MIDI Fighters.
