Investigators are wondering whether there is a serial killer on the loose in Niagara falls after officials found two women dismembered in the area in two separate cases that took place nearly three years apart. 

The second dismembered body was found at a vacant home in Niagara Falls last month. The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Terri Lynn Bills, WKBW reported.

A woman discovered a dead body inside the vacant home on Willow Avenue after smelling a strong odor inside. Police arrived to discover the decomposed corpse was  missing its head, arms and feet, according to WKBW.

The case is similar to the death of 30-year-old Loretta Gates, who was found dismembered in September 2012. The two victims are said to be related, WKBW reported.

Gates’s torso, parts of her arm and leg were found in the Niagara River near the Rainbow Bridge while her head and other body parts were found in Hyde Park, according to WKBW.

“A lot of very important information was gathered that will be instrumental in bringing this investigation to a successful conclusion,” Niagara Gazette quoted Falls Police Detective Captain Kelly Rizzo as saying.

More than 90 officers have been deployed to search for evidence throughout the city.
