A leader tries not to influence the team, but allows them the control to make decisions.  There will be times when, as the leader, you must take control of the situation because you have the most clarity and competence at that point in time.  If you’re going to make the decision, be there to clarify intentions with the team.

When a decision needs to be made urgently, make it, then have the team discuss the decision after the event.  When a decision needs to be made reasonably soon, ask for team input, even briefly, and then make the decision.
