Possibly my favorite game on the Genesis. Definitely my favorite ninja game of all time. It hasn't gone nearly stale in the over 20 years I have been playing this game. 

This is definitely not a speed run, but I stole some tricks from the speed runner Keaur in his Awesome Games Done Quick run of the game (rapid fire bug, wall clip, and the despawn trick in the last stage). I wasn't able to do them as well, though. Other than some exploits of the game's system, no cheats were used. Joe Musashi doesn't take actual damage when he just bumps into enemies. 

I might come back to this game again for another video. I wanted to do a mostly sword run, but I keep getting hit while trying, so I gave up and just went with a regular run. It's a bit obvious that I didn't really know what I was going for with this run. In retrospect, I should've done this on hard mode, but I kind of forgot.

EDIT: Also, while I know many people hate the song on the second part of the 5th stage, it's actually my favorite track in the game.
