The creators, who go by the gamertags of Notch and Jeb, sold the company to the huge corporation Microsoft (congratulations Bill Gates) for a MASSIVE amount of money. Notch is no longer associated with the game, Jeb still is (as I write this) involved, despite now being filthy rich.
