Due to the destruction caused by Hurricane María in Puerto Rico, FEMA's Permanent Housing Construction program has been activated. This program is set in motion when alternate housing resources are unavailable or scarce. FEMA pays for and manages rebuilding or construction of survivor's homes that have been approved on a case-by-case basis.
