We can say that the Energia Ego is the most established sports electric motorcycle at the moment. Its development and performance are so convincing that it has become the basis on which they will compete in the new MotoE World Motorcycle Championship in the MotoGP Championship.

The price of the Ego Energy (€ 25,400) is relatively high compared to other combustion supercars, which still offer pure higher performance. We will see how other proposals like the KYMCO SuperNEX have just arrived, although at the moment there are no super-electric motorcycle models that are solvent. So much so that the Energia Ego has served as the basis for the motorcycle of the MotoE World Championship, the new motorcycle world championship promoted within MotoGP starting in 2019.

The Energia Ego is a sports bike designed by engineers who have experience in F1 and other competitions. We can say that it is a high-performance electric motor with permanent magnet motor cooled by water that yields nothing less than 145 hp with an instant delivery between 4900 and 10500 rpm and a torque of 200 Nm from 0 to 4700 rpm. This means that the Energia Ego gives accelerations from 0 to 100 km / h in 3 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 240 km / h without having to make any change of gear.

The Ego Energy has a brain, a vehicle control unit. It works independently of other systems on the bike and the battery, the inverter, the charger and the ABS are constantly monitored by the VCU, a system developed entirely by Energica. Thanks to this device, the driver can choose between various engine maps and adapt to the circumstances of each moment.

The absence of the gearbox is supplemented by an electronic throttle system that regulates the delivery of power and even a position of regenerative braking or engine braking. Between them there is a neutral position. We must mention that the Ego Energy has "Park Assistant", a mode to use when maneuvering in town or when parking, as it limits speed and torque, leaving a maximum speed of 2.8 km / h and a torque of 50 Nm. The brakes are signed by Brembo while the ABS is from Bosch, which also has a function to prevent lifting the rear wheel in heavy braking.

Also surprising is the Cobo TFT color 4.3 "screen. Through it and by Bluetooth connection, you can connect to your phone.

One of the most important issues when we talk about electric bikes is their autonomy. The Energia Ego promises up to 200 km without stopping in ECO mode. The quick recharge can be done from zero to 85% in 25 minutes (mode 4) while the normal recharge from 100% vacuum is 3.5 hours.

The Energia Ego 2019 is available in two colors but also in a special edition that honors the Corsa version that will be the official motorcycle of the new MotoE World Championship, the world championship of electric motorcycles within MotoGP that starts in 2019.
