The flame gigas saw this and were displeased, and so did they launch a grand assault on the kingdom under the earth. At the end of a long, brutal war, the gigas were defeated, yet the kingdom too, fell into ruin, sinking deeper still beneath the surface, away from the light, and into obscurity until it and its prized mythril were discovered by adventurers centuries later."
