The Olympic and World Champion celebrated his fifth victory in the series and relegated World Cup title defender Martins Dukurs (LAT, 0.17 seconds behind) to second place. As a consequence, after eight World Cup victories across the seasons, the Olympic silver-medallist from 2010 and 2014 is not quite at the top of the podium.
