2015 proved to be a tough year for Africa's economy, faced with a slowdown in export markets and a slump in commodities prices - particularly oil, putting robust economic growth rates in jeopardy. In Africa's biggest economy Nigeria, the effects of a global oil price slump saw its economic growth drop to 5.54 per cent down from an estimated 6.23 percent for 2014.
