A request from his daughter may have saved a county lawmaker's life. Jackson County Legislator Dan Tarwater is recovering from a staph infection. He is back home after spending four nights in an isolated hospital room at St. Joseph's. Tarwater said it was a big problem that started out small. This was just a typical little sore that was on my back and on my shoulder blade," Tarwater told KMBC's Chris Nagus. Tarwater went to the doctor, but antibiotics didn't help. He eventually went to the hospital after the wound continued to grow, but not without a little help from his daughter. "She put her arm around me and started to cry and said, 'Mommy and I really want you to go to the emergency room," Tarwater said.
