In this Skype in the Classroom lesson, we connected Mrs. Stoll's 4th grade classroom in Texas with Michael Wilkinson, an elementary math and science teacher from the Bronx, to explore the effect of light and gravity on seedling growth. Students created predictions, learned about environmental influences on plant growth, and then prototyped experimental apparatuses with littleBits to test their hypotheses. You can view the full lesson instructions on our littleBits lessons page: Microgravity (http://littlebits.cc/browse-lessons/seedspinner-simulating-microg-with-littlebits-and-fastplants) and wavelength effects (http://littlebits.cc/browse-lessons/exploring-light-and-plant-pigments-with-littlebits-and-fastplants) on seedling growth. We have new lessons happening every month on Skype in the Classroom. Check out our page to get involved: https://education.skype.com/partners/185-littlebits
