But we believe that these issues point to many much deeper issues that we don't hear addressed very often in the same context so we thought that making this video was important to remind and inform people what lies behind these and many other "issues". This last week I was reading in the Psalms and it struck me how repetitive it is that God states that he will keep his covenant to love his people. It's repeated so often that it becomes mundane and normal. But it was never meant to be that way. I realized that the single biggest commitment we have is marriage. And it seems to have lost it's power. And the biggest threat of this is that without realizing it, this undermines our over all understanding of what commitment means from God when he says it to his people. Many Christians are up in arms about marriage because most of them see it as a threat to a lifestyle or morality. And while these things may also be threatened I think the biggest cost we are paying is in not understanding the images that these were supposed to be of the greatest love story in the universe. The same is true about abortion. It has become an issue of murder and legality and I do believe that these are important issues. But we must remember that the goal is not to be anti-murder. Abortion is a loss because it speaks to the opposite of life, the opposite of acceptance, and the opposite of desire. And those three things have the ability to change every human on the planet while legal measures can only litigate behavior.
