Cricket's North Zone held its End of Year Awards where Dane Teelucksingh of Police was named the 2017 Cricketer of the Year. Teelucksingh won out among a group that included Joel Sitaram, Kevin Williams, Kenroy Williams and Marlon Phillip. Delivering the feature address, veteran journalist Tony Fraser challenged the members in the Zone to be part of the change needed. The experienced columnist said they don't know the power they have, and need to hold themselves accountable for the direction of the sport in the region.
